Health

Still struggling with my health. My migraines and dizzy spells are under much better control, but not near enough to get my life in somewhat of a stable condition. I do what work I can from home, but it's not always enough. Very thankful to have my mother, though these days we're two peas in a pod with our health issues. I'll just say I'm thankful she's nearing retirement. I'm not sure how much longer she can cope with working and dealing with her ill health.

Everything Else

Not much else is really going on. Still teaching 5-year olds in church, still being a hermit hiding in the hobbit hole. Oh, I am trying to become a plumber. I'm fixing my toilet. Also fixed my shower. Next up on the list of attempt-to-try is carpentry. I've got some woodworking plans and tools leftover from when my Dad and husband left. My mom and I figure between the two of us we can string two boards together. We shall see. We finally got a digital camera, so I'll post updates on if we actually manage anything.

health
I've been sick off and on since the end of last year. My immune system is pretty low to begin with, but what's made it worse is the dizziness. I've had that in association with migraines since I was 16, but they've been getting progressively worse. I've cut out certain foods and medications to try and compensate. It's helped to some degree, but it's still debilitating.

Work outside the home is not possibly right now because of that. So I do freelance graphic design when I can.

I've joined another paranormal investigation group, the International Paranormal Research Group (a TAPs Family Group). That's been such a blast. I've learned so much. Right now I'm handling their newsletter exclusively while I'm dealing with my health problems. I still hang out on their board on a daily basis though. If you've got any interest in the paranormal, I encourage you to visit as there's lots of team members around to answer questions and offer interesting things to read/see.

I don't really get out much these days. My mom and I take community classes every now and then. The city holds gardening classes every year that we usually attend (this last year was on the topic of xeriscaping). We go to the Home Depot Do-It-Herself workshops if there's a good topic (last one we attended was on planning a yard design).

Just this weekend I went out with my Mom and some old friends of hers to see the local Philharmonic play. They did a wonderful set of songs, and included some with violin prodigy Chee-Yun. That girl plays so fast her fingers smoke. She also played through about four or five songs all without sheet music. Can you say good memory?

I always forget to post an update here. In all honesty though, I've not been doing much of anything lately.

In my LiveJournal I've doing a meme, "30 Days of Tokio Hotel" in honor of my favorite German band Tokio Hotel(which of course is just the vehicle for my obsession with the Kaulitz Twins). You can see my obsession all the posts I've done for it so far here.

I spaz out every now and then on Twitter. I don't post there with any regularity, but I do lurk with the best of them. You can find me on there here.

My latest obsession (other than Kaulitz!twincest), is Facebook games. Damn you, Facebook. I'm on pretty much all the Zynga games (except Frontierville, I refuse to submit!), Mallworld (a girl can dream), and anything involving food. Ever so often I post there too. You can find my here.

I try not to post the same thing to every account. So, everyone's got different things (except on Twitter lately I've been cheating for lack of anything better to say).

Bah. That's me in a nutshell at the moment.

Sorry I haven't updated here in awhile. I've got a Dreamwidth account now - h e r e and I'm mirroring most of my LJ posts there. They've got a great import content feature there.

Yes, I did set resolutions. I've decided I need to get a new me. LOL - no lofty aspirations for this Saifai at all. *gr*

More details on that when I get around to actually writing it all down.

In the mean time, you may all ooh and aah over my new header. I even uploaded some new user icons. Part of my resolutions for this year is keeping in better contact with people. Going with that, I'm going to try and post here more. Yay me!

This happens every year. Lazuli crooks her finger and I come running. Yes, it's time for the Annual Spander Christmas thingy (The 2008 Spander Illuminations).

I write my Buffy story this year, with Spike and Xander of course, to the tune of... well, Xander. For forever it seems I've had this idea stuck in my head that some things never go as planned when it comes to Xander. When do they ever? But this time it was something serious. Remember that episode Go Fish from way back in Season 2?

This is my take on how things really went.

I make the majority of my posts over at LJ for now, still. But many people I know are moving over here, so I'm taking up a name for that purpose. Also so I can reserve my name. *growls protectively over username*

Unless I'm able to setup a feed or something, you won't see much here. If there's something important going on though, I'll provide links (and or content depending on if it's locked or not).
